This extended version of the Vientiane – Plain of Jars – World Heritage tour offers an extra day to enjoy the area around the Plain of Jars. This includes visiting hill tribe villages, learning about silk weaving, swimming in a natural hot-spring and visiting a war cave.
The trip starts with our Vientiane city tour, which will take you to all the important sightseeing attractions of the capital. Next get on a plane to Phonsavan, the gateway to the famous and mysterious Plain of Jars. After this we head to Luang Prabang, the UNESCO World Heritage city. Enjoy the charming French colonial architecture and get inspired by the old temples. Then get on a boat to cruise the mighty Mekong River and admire the famous Pak Ou Buddha Caves.
Day 1 | ![]() ![]() Arrive in Vientiane-City Tours (Meal:Lunch)Welcome to Vientiane, Arrive at Vientiane airport, and after customs & immigration formalities, transfer with your guide to your hotel. After a short rest, Enjoy a city tour to Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Visit Wat Simuang and Wat Prakeo, which was the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha, which today lives in Bangkok. There are many excellent restaurants in Vientiane, and you will easily find something to suit your taste. Visit the huge golden That Luang monument, where all Lao citizen respect as holy pagoda. Visit Vientiane’s own Victory Monument, which looks like the Arc de Triumphe. This was built at the end of the Indochina wars with money rumoured to be American, and earmarked for the airport’s new runway. Thus the departing Americans dubbed this monument the vertical runway! Have a look at the lovely arches inside the monument. You can visit Street Night Market at Anouvong Park during the sunset along Khong river. Overnight in Vientiane. |

Day 3 | ![]() ![]() Phonsavanh-Plain of Jars-Luang Prabang (Meals:Breakfast, Lunch)After breakfast, Meet your guide and visit Phonsavanh Market to see local lives, we then drive out of town visit plain of jars, an impressive archaeological site 1 where hundreds of large stone jars are littered all over the plateau. Also, visit plain of jars sites 2. Afternoon, Continue to Luang Prabang about 7hour drive . The journey will take us over mountainous region to Luang Prabang. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. Arrive in Luang Prabang late evening, check in at your hotel.Overnight in Luang Prabang. |
Day 4 | ![]() ![]() Luang Prabang – City Tours- Kuang Sii Fall (Meals-Breakfast, Lunch)After breakfast, Meet your guide and Visit National museum, known as former royal palace, Visit Wat Mai, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Visit Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most charming temple in Laos. Visit Wat Sene. Afternoon, We drive out of town 30KM to the beautiful Kuang Sii Fall, where you can swim, relax, soft trek to the top of the fall. On return, Stop and short tour visit Buffalo Dairy Farm: http://www.laosbuffalodairy.com/, The tour will be lasted about 40minutes -Tour included a guide tour of the mini farm, Buffalo feeding & Washing, Milking Demonstration, & Feeding Chickens and rabbits. Other, Short stop at Black Hmong Village, where hill tribe hand-made handicraft as souvenirs for visitors pass by. Arrive in town, Climb up Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small city. Climb its 350 steps to enjoy commanding views for many miles in each direction. Wat Phu Sii sits atop the mountain, along side the skeletons of Indochina war anti-aircraft guns! Shopping Street Hmong market, where hundred of Hmong vendors display their handmade handicraft. Day 5 | ![]() ![]() Luang Prabang-Pak Ou Cave(Meals-Breakfast, Lunch)As an optional, Today you may want to get up early to participating an Arm-Giving, hundred of monks walking along side walk to collect rice and food from laymen. We then visit Fresh morning Market at Prakham village to see local lives.After breakfast, Meet your guide and Visit Traditional Art & Ethnology Art Center, where you can find information about Lao hill tribe and their daily sample materials. We enjoy a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the distillation of local rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong, well known for its hand weaving.
